Ukraine can
be better

Exclusive author's book by the authors of the SD Platform and the Institute for Democracy and Social Progress "What is social democracy?".

The authors of the publication in an accessible and concise way try to acquaint people with the history, values of social democracy, to analyze the process of transformation of ideology, to present facts about the main philosophers and politicians who professed social-democratic views.

Authors also explain the main differences between social democracy and such ideologies as liberalism, conservatism and nationalism, they also represent modern interesting facts and facts from the history about social democracy.

For a wide range of public activists, political scientists, historians and those who are interested in the formation and functioning of ideological types.

"Youth: Our Word" is an attempt to find a solution and give our vision of the possible Ukrainian youth development.

The most interesting part of the brochure are three of the best open essays on the challenges faced by young people, these essays have won in the final of the initiative among the hundreds of texts sent to the contest.

During two years, the SD Platform with the initiative "Youth. Our Word" has visited 10 cities of Ukraine - Dnipro, Mykolayiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kyiv and other regional centers. In each city, SD Platform activists have created a discussion platform on the topic of social problems. Every young person is familiar with these problems- corruption in education, inconsistency of university programs with the realities of the labor market, difficulties in obtaining the first job, low wages, "brain drain" issue and many others.

The series of 3-day meetings in each city brought youth leaders, students, activists, members of public and political organizations and representatives of state institutions together. So the voice of the young people was heard even by the closed to dialogue and discussions public authorities.

In the final of the initiative, a brochure "Youth. Our Word" has became the subject of a joint analytical work by hundreds of young people from different regions of Ukraine. Indeed, in spite of regions, differences in age, social status and profession, all of us, young Ukrainians, are concerned about the same issues:

— Education. Tool or formality?!

— Virus of unemployment: is there a cure?

— Social integration of youth

The name itself means that this is a guide for politicians or for those who intend to become them. So, successful European politicians and political strategists from the Netherlands shared their own experience of campaigning and work at the party's head office.

But the book will also be useful for every young person who is interested in self-development, wants to understand how to work in a team, how to speak to the public and to achieve their goals. In the era of Facebook and the lifestyle "all to show", using the correct way of communication you can find your audience and even become an opinion leader.

In the book "How to become a better politician" everything is written the way you love: minimum of theory and a lot of practice.

Easy to understand about the technologies that are used in politics. These technologies will also be useful for anyone who wants to become successful in the public sphere.

The manual "To become a better politician" is written by the authors of the Alfred Moser Foundation, translated and adapted to Ukrainian reality by activists of the All-Ukrainian public organization "Institute for Democracy and Social Processes".

We permanently focus on the importance of youth participation in the state governance. But do young people want to take part in political processes? Do they wish the qualitatively change of the political situation in their own country? Brochure "Restoration of trust in politics through the participation of young people. Example of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine " is the answer to these complicated questions.

The book is an analytical study result of youth participation in political processes (not only in Ukraine, but also in the countries of the Eastern Partnership - Moldova and Georgia).

During the research, SD Platform and other voluntary organizations conducted a survey of 1,200 respondents - young people aged 18 to 35 from Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

The specific thing about the research is that it clearly answers to the question of why the political sphere is unpopular among young people and shows their life attitudes and general tendencies of attitude to politics and public sphere.
